In Rock was supposed to be a 4-track single, however Fire were frustrated with the band being unable to deliver an LP for release. Therefore against their wishes the record company added a couple of session tracks, plus a re-working of an earlier B-Side: "Just Like Yesterday" ("Yesterday Once More") to bring the track numbers up, enabling them to release it as an album, the third from the band and first to be release in the U.S.
